Are You Shopping Properly ?

Are You Shopping Properly ?

September 01, 2020

We have all heard the saying “You get what you pay for”. Well, this statement can be applied to all of us
when it comes to purchasing insurance. Whether its home, auto, business, or life insurance, every one
of us has different needs.

As an agent it is my job to ask questions so that I can offer products and endorsements that would meet
any need that may arise. Unfortunately, there are many agents who simply issue policies based on price
and clients who are seeking the “cheapest” coverage available. While this may seem like a good way to
shop for insurance (financially anyway), many individuals find out just how good (or bad) their coverage
really is when disaster strikes. In other words when it is too late.

To avoid falling into this category I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the included coverages
and limits available on your policy, as well as the optional coverages available to you. Ask yourself if it
is something that you need.

Maybe you are unaware if your homeowner’s Insurance covers water damage or includes coverage for
your valuable items such as jewelry or firearms. Perhaps you are unaware if your auto Insurance
coverage extends to a rental vehicle, or if your vehicle is covered for theft or vandalism. Maybe it has
just been a long time since you have gone over your policy and your needs have since changed.

Call your agent and discuss your needs! While he or she may have done their best to offer you the
broadest coverage available, they will not know the full extent of your needs unless you tell them.
